Introducing the “Attend Concerts, Earn Free Lessons” program!
Effective May 16th, 2017
As my students have certainly heard me say, attending harp concerts and events is an important part of developing as a harpist. For every three harp events/concerts my students attend, I’ve decided to give them a free 30-minute lesson (max 2 free lessons per calendar year.)
Events and concerts that qualify for this program:
Meetings of the American Harp Society
Concerts featuring a harpist as a soloist or as part of a duet
Concerts with a harp concerto on the program
Harp competitions (like the Scottish Harp Competition), either participating or attending
Master class (participating or attending)
Harp workshops (participating or attending)
Summer Institutes, harp camps, harp conferences, harp retreats
Becoming a member of the Minnesota Chapter of the American Harp Society
Some details: attending or participating in our studio recital or rehearsals do not count, as I do not consider these events extra-curricular. I reserve the right to approve or not approve any events and to cancel or change the program at any time without notice. If students stop lessons they lose any outstanding credits.
How does this work in practice?
My students bring me something to show that they went (a program, a ticket stub, a verbal description, a written paragraph) and I log the credit. When they reach three events/concerts they get a free lesson and the count starts over.
