November 8, 2019 | Stephanie Claussen CD Release Concert | St Paul, MN 55104 | The Celtic Junction |
Time: 7:30pm. Admission: $15 advanced, $20 at the door; free for youth 18 and under. Age restrictions: All Ages. Address: 836 Prior Ave N. Comprised of over two dozen traditional tunes from Scotland and Ireland, “The Road Home from Skye” features original harp arrangements by Stephanie Claussen. Claussen cites the atmosphere of a stroll she took through Glen Lichd in the Highlands as the underlying theme for the album. Tunes of welcome and farewell; jigs, reels and airs; tunes inspired by love and politics. Claussen treats each piece with her characteristic attention to melody and subtle but emotive dynamics. With open accompaniments and just enough “crunch” in the harmonies to keep things interesting, “The Road Home from Skye” aims to inspire a few tears and a whole lot of toe-tapping. | |||
